The 2025 canal race season will be my last – there, now you know. Somehow I\’ve convinced myself that ten years is satisfactory; I announced my intention to step down as organiser for Canalrace C.I.C. at the GUCR draw last weekend.

If you have dreamt of being the next organiser*, operating on a hobby not-for-profit basis i.e. purely for the love of it, please make yourself and your idea known, by email in the first case.

I will report back here early in the New Year with the outcome of this appeal.

N.B. The 2026 season race lineup is planned to be announced early in January 2025. This timing & other plans will now be subject to the next organiser, assuming they step forward.
